Audience engagement is an essential part of important
presentations, being board meeting or any other forms of presentations. In
modern times, attention spans have become increasingly more short do to the
fact of the vastly different forms of technologies. This may lead you to
constantly fight for your audience’s attention plus you only have a few minutes
when the presentation begins, to pique their interest.
There are many different ways to keep your audience engaged to your
presentation.
- Present yourself as Authentic and Credible: You should speak with conviction and try to provide insight from your own personal experiences. By doing this your words become more interesting and memorable, knowing your facts and believing in what you’re saying is important and also keeps your audience interested in what you have to say.
- Most Importantly, Master your Nerves: Don’t let your anxieties like speech anxiety, hold you back from giving your presentation. Instead, keep your audience focused on your message and what you have to present. Don’t worry about being perfect. Practice what you want to say and then give your presentation with confidence. Being able to "control" your nervousness and fears and put the extra energy they give you into something positive for your presentation.
